Here is The Monday Motivation (TMM) for you! Have a super wonderful week ahead.
I became involved with Home Hospice Association two years ago in gratitude for the support I received but more importantly paying forward the love and assistance that my beloved Diana received from Merri-Lee, our Death Doula.
Diana fought the ravages of colorectal cancer for five years but realized that the end of her life’s journey was approaching. She wished to die in our bed; surrounded by family and friends; laughing, hugging, and remembering the good times. Her grace and calmness brought peace to all who attended her vigil.I’m not sure that I can define what a “good death” would look like.
As a young man, I was a soldier witnessing death in combat many times. I could not describe any of them as other than horrible. As an older man, Diana’s life of selfless service and courage at the end of her journey showed me how to live. It is this legacy that I desire to make available in her name.

DEATH IS NOT THE GREATEST LOSS IN LIFE. THE GREATEST LOSS IS WHAT DIES INSIDE US WHILE WE LIVE.
