Here is The Monday Motivation (TMM) for you! Have a super wonderful week ahead.
My name is Morgan Poirier and I am the project manager of our Hospice at Home program, specifically working with The Diana Pathway Project. The Diana Pathway project provides compassionate support to individuals and families seeking or accessing medical assistance in dying. This project is following the legacy of Diana, the first client Home Hospice Association supported through their personal experience with medical assistance in dying. I joined this project to assist in filling gaps within the palliative healthcare system and furthering the discussion and understanding of medically assisted dying.
Every day, Home Hospice Association encourages me to practice mindfulness. Every individual deserves equal access to quality health and death care, the fulfillment of personal wishes and beliefs throughout the dying process, and especially dignity in dying. An experience I will always cherish during my time working with Diana Pathway includes the truly beautiful personal anecdotes shared by Dan Steinwald and Merri-Lee Agar, Diana’s husband and death doula respectively. These stories reflect the mission and purpose of The Diana Pathway and remind me of the goals Home Hospice Association along with my wish to achieve.
The youth of today can help make the world a better place by sharing time, knowledge, and passion that contribute to a better world. It is truly an enlightening experience to volunteer and provide an essential service to a population in need.
